During the long-term use of fertilizer quantitative packaging scales, various problems will indeed be encountered. These issues can be roughly summarized into several aspects: precision problems, mechanical problems, electrical and control problems, material property problems, and operation and maintenance problems.
Below, I will list these problems in detail for you and provide some common causes and solutions.
Precision Issues (Directly Affecting costs and customer trust)
This is the most core and common problem
1. Unstable weighing with large errors
Phenomenon: The packaging weight is sometimes heavy and sometimes light, exceeding the allowable error range.
Possible causes:
Aerodynamic issues: Unstable pressure of the main air source; The cylinder or pneumatic components do not operate smoothly or leak air. The solenoid valve responds slowly or is damaged.
Mechanical wear: There is material accumulation, jamming or wear on the connecting parts of the load cell, the fulcrum of the lever and other parts, resulting in inaccurate force transmission.
Mechanical and Structural Issues
1. Problems with the feeding mechanism
Phenomenon: The gate is stuck, does not open or close properly, does not close tightly, and leaks material.
Possible causes:
Corrosion and adhesion of materials: Fertilizers are corrosive and can cause rusting and jamming of cylinder rods and gate shafts.
"Bearing/slider wear: Long-term use leads to mechanical wear."
Foreign matter jamming: Thread ends of packaging bags, labels or large lumps of fertilizer are stuck at the gate.
2. Issues with the bag clamping mechanism
Phenomenon: The bag cannot be clamped tightly (the bag drops) or the bag is clamped too tightly (the bag is damaged and difficult to loosen).
Possible causes:
The pneumatic pressure is insufficient or too high.
The leather bowl of the valve bag clamp is worn, aged or damaged.
Deformation or loosening of the mechanical structure.

Problems Caused by material properties
The physical and chemical properties of the fertilizer itself will directly affect the performance of the packaging scale.
1. Absorb moisture and form lumps
Impact: It leads to poor fluidity, poor material discharge, and the formation of "arch Bridges" (bridging) in the silo and feeder, resulting in material interruption or unstable flow. Lumps may also jam the feeding mechanism.
2. Corrosiveness
Impact: Corrode metal components such as the scale hopper, sensors, and cylinders, shorten the equipment's lifespan, and affect weighing accuracy.
3. Dust problem
Impact:
Health and safety: It may harm the health of operators and pose an explosion risk (organic dust).
Equipment: Dust enters electrical cabinets, cylinders, bearings, etc., causing malfunctions.
Accuracy: Dust adhering to the scale hopper affects the tare weight and causes errors.
*To reduce the malfunctions of the fertilizer quantitative packaging scale, the following should be done:
1. Daily inspection: Before starting work, check the air source pressure, clean the equipment, and inspect whether all mechanisms are operating normally.
2. Regular maintenance: Regularly clean the sensors and connecting parts, inspect and lubricate mechanical components, clean the air filter, and calibrate the weighing system.
3. Standardized operation: Operators should receive training, understand the principle of the equipment, and not change key parameters at will.
4. Environmental improvement: Try to keep the workshop environment dry, reduce dust, and ensure proper sealing and protection for key parts of the equipment (such as electrical control boxes and sensor junction boxes).
5. Address the root cause: After a problem occurs, check it in the order of "airway -> mechanical -> electrical -> parameters -> materials", which often leads to a quicker identification of the root cause.
Through systematic maintenance and standardized operation, the stability and service life of the fertilizer quantitative packaging scale can be greatly enhanced, ensuring production efficiency and economic benefits.
