After the bag is filled, the line often continues with these machines, which the infeed device indirectly feeds by enabling the filling step.
Bag Closers / Sealers: This is the direct next step. Once filled, the bag is transferred to a machine that closes it. This can be:
Heat Sealers: For poly bags (e.g., snack foods, frozen vegetables).
Impulse Sealers: For various plastic films.
Sewing Machines: For heavy-duty bags like those for animal feed, charcoal, or building materials.
Tag Attachers / Labelers: For applying price tags or labels to the top of the bag.
Checkweighers: The filled and sealed bag passes over a checkweigher to ensure it meets weight regulations, rejecting any under or overweight bags.
Metal Detectors / X-ray Inspectors: For product safety, the bags are passed through these inspection systems to detect contaminants.
Conveyors: The infeed device is integrated into a conveyor system that transports the bags between all these different stations (filling, sealing, checkweighing).
